In Queensland, Responsible Service of Alcohol training is mandatory throughout the state for all people serving alcohol including bar staff, sommeliers, waiting staff (in licensed premises), airline staff, security staff and people serving at catered events.
At Foot in the Door Training we realise just how important the responsible service of alcohol is. That is why we only offer classroom based courses. Because there are just some things the internet can’t teach you!

The Provide Responsible Service of Gambling certificate, (RSG certificate) is nationally recognised and is a legal requirement for anyone seeking employment within the gaming industry.
After completing the Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) unit, you will be able to work in premises that have gaming machines as well as learn the importance of responsible service of gambling.
A total of 1 unit is required for this qualification SITHGAM001: Provide responsible gambling service is covered in this course and contributes towards a qualification in Hospitality.

IF YOU’RE LOOKING TO GET A JOB IN A COFFEE SHOP OR RESTAURANT
THEN A BARISTA COURSE IS A MUST!

Our barista course will provide you with the necessary skills to create an amazing espresso coffee. The course will also teach you about the origins of coffee, the different types, equipment terminology, grinding techniques and of course, the skills to produce your own perfect espresso coffees. You will have the use of a modern espresso machine to hone your barista skills. This course is open to anyone who is interested in learning anything and everything about coffee.
Due to changes in the training package this course is non-accredited due to the prerequisite of completion of the hygiene unit. Students will receive a certificate of attendance.

Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways

We have developed this course to be as hands on and practical as possible. Literacy and numeracy learning doesn’t need to be boring!
During this course you will have the opportunity to run a café, research and develop a pathway to your career goals, learn how to confidently read, write and comprehend typical workplace documents and have a great time doing it.

Electives have been chosen from Certificate III Hospitality and Certificate III Retail. Hospitality units provide the underpinning knowledge and practical skills to work in a cafe, make coffees and other beverages, communicate with customers and work effectively in a busy environment. Retail units provide students with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills to operate a cash register, manage and price stock, operate a range of retail technology and communicate with customers.

A certificate II in Hospitality is the foot in the door to working in restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops. This course is designed to maximise your chances for employment by honing your skills in communication, hygiene, teamwork, customer service, coffee making and obtaining the required certificates to work in licensed venues. This course takes place in a classroom environment and contains 12 shifts of vocational placement.

A Certificate III in Hospitality operations covers all aspects of the hospitality industry from customer service, hygiene, WHS, working the bar, espresso coffee, restaurant and café service, responsible service of alcohol and responsible gambling service.
This course is designed for people with a genuine interest in a career in hospitality, people currently in hospitality or if you have completed a certificate II and would like to go to the next level. This course takes place in a classroom environment and contains 36 shifts of vocational placement.

CERTIFICATE II IN RETAIL SERVICES
SIR20216 THIS QUALIFICATION COULD BE THE EDGE YOU NEED TO PROGRESS INTO A CAREER IN RETAIL.

It provides you with the skills and knowledge to be competent in a range of activities and functions including effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, initiative, planning and organising and technology. Work would be undertaken in various retail store settings such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail outlets.
Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as: provide product and service advice in a retail store: sell products and services in a variety of retail settings: work as a checkout operator: check stock and replenish shelves: organise and maintain work areas and displays. This course takes place in a classroom environment and contains 30 hours of vocational placement.

CERTIFICATE III IN RETAIL OPERATIONS

This course is perfect for people that are existing employees within the retail sector, students that have successfully completed a Certificate II in Retail Services in conjunction with retail experience or students that can show evidence of retail experience and show the necessary commitment and skills to satisfactorily complete a Certificate III level course.

The certificate III in retail Operations will give the student all the relevant skills and knowledge to gain employment in roles such as a sales assistant, senior sales assistant, customer service assistant, point-of-sale operator, venue supervisor. This course takes place in a classroom environment and contains 30 hours of vocational placement.
